Road Conditions and Evacuation Route Options

Highway 97 is closed between Penticton and Peachland due to wildfire. A detour route has been created by way of Forest Service Road 201 (Okanagan Falls Road) and Highway 33 between Penticton and Kelowna. This route is about 107 to 121 km. See a PDF map of the route here.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • The forest service road detour routes are not up to normal highway standards. If you are unsure or unprepared, use Highway 33.
  • If you decide to use Forest Service Road 201, you should fuel up, bring extra supplies, food and water, and note that conditions can change quickly. Drive with caution and during daylight hours.
  • Always check DriveBC.ca for road updates before you begin driving.
