Natural Gas Outage in Lake Country, Kelowna and Duck Lake IR7

Current situation
An extended natural gas outage is impacting parts of Lake Country, Kelowna, and the Okanagan Indian Band (Duck Lake IR7). FortisBC is responding to the outage. Exposure to cold, even indoors, is a risk to health and safety.
The Warming Centre at 15710 Oyama Road closed at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18. As of 1 p.m., April 18, FortisBC had completed approx. 3,500 relights for customers. Crews continue to make progress

Follow all directions from officials:
Take steps to keep your home warm or seek warmer locations, such as an Emergency Warming Centre or a Public Warming Space.
Never use outdoor equipment indoors, including natural gas or propane heating systems.
If you smell gas or hear the sound of escaping gas, go outside immediately and call 9‑1‑1 or 1‑800‑663‑9911.
