High Streamflow Advisory UPGRADED to Flood Watch for Fraser Valley

Current situation
The River Forecast Centre has UPGRADED to a Flood Watch for Fraser Valley in B.C.
A High Streamflow Advisory remains in effect for Tulameen River, Coldwater River, Central Coast including the Kingcome and Wannock Rivers and surrounding basins, South Coast including Howe Sound, North Shore Mountains and Metro Vancouver and Vancouver Island, South Interior, East Kootenay, Boundary and West Kootenay.
The public is advised to stay clear of these fast-flowing rivers.

Area of impact
- Lower Fraser tributaries including Chilliwack River, Skagit River, Coquihalla River and other areas of the Fraser Valley around Abbotsford, Chilliwack, Hope and east through Manning Park.
- Sumas River, including the potential for spillover from the Nooksack River.

During a Flood Watch:
Stay clear of fast-flowing rivers. Riverbanks may be unstable and dangerous.
Visit your local government or First Nation website for information about your community.

High Streamflow Advisory
River levels are rising or are expected to rise rapidly. Major flooding is not expected. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Flood Watch
River levels are rising and will approach or may exceed the river bank. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.

Flood Warning
River levels have exceeded the river bank or will exceed the river bank soon. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.
