Flood Watch issued for North and Central Coast and North Vancouver Island

Current situation
The BC River Forecast Centre has issued a Flood Watch for the North & Central Coast and North Vancouver Island, including rivers and tributaries around Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Terrace, and Kitsumkalum, and the Skeena, Kingcome, and Wannock (Wuikinuxv) rivers. Stay clear of fast-flowing rivers & potentially unstable riverbanks.

- North Coast including rivers and tributaries around New Aiyansh-Nass River, Prince Rupert, Kitimat and surrounding areas
- Skeena River tributaries including areas around Terrace and Kitsumkalum
- Central Coast including the Kingcome River and Wannock River (Wuikinuxv)
- North Vancouver Island

Stay clear of fast-flowing rivers. Riverbanks may be unstable and dangerous.

River levels are rising or are expected to rise rapidly. Major flooding is not expected. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Flood Watch
River levels are rising and will approach or may exceed the river bank. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.

Flood Warning
River levels have exceeded the river bank or will exceed the river bank soon. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.
