Current situation

The BC River Forecast Centre has issued a Flood Watch for Upper Columbia, East Kootenay, Chilcotin Region, Homathko River in B.C. There are also High Streamflow Advisories for several areas of B.C. Stay clear of fast-flowing rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks.

The River Forecast Centre is maintaining a Flood Watch for:
• Upper Columbia and tributaries
• East Kootenay
• Middle Fraser/Chilcotin region tributaries draining from the Coast Mountains east of
Lillooet and Williams Lake
• Homathko River
The River Forecast Centre is maintaining/issuing a High Streamflow Advisory for the BC Interior
including tributaries in the:
• Peace Region, including areas around Hudson’s Hope, Chetwynd, Tumbler Ridge,
Dawson Creek, Fort St. John and surrounding areas
• Upper Fraser (New)
• South Thompson and Nicola (New)
• West Kootenay, Okanagan, and Similkameen (New)

High Streamflow Advisory

River levels are rising or are expected to rise rapidly. Major flooding is not expected. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Flood Watch

River levels are rising and will approach or may exceed the river bank. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.

Flood Warning

River levels have exceeded the river bank or will exceed the river bank soon. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.
