Current situation

The River Forecast Centre has ended all Flood Watches in B.C. A High Streamflow Advisory remain in place for Upper Columbia and East Kootenay. Avoid fast-flowing rivers and potentially unstable riverbanks.

High Streamflow Advisory:

  • Upper Columbia including tributaries around Golden and surrounding areas (DOWNGRADED)
  • East Kootenay including tributaries around the upper Kootenay River and Kootenay National Park, Fairmont Hotsprings, Fernie, Elkford, Kimberley and surrounding areas (DOWNGRADED)

Flood Watch

River levels are rising and will approach or may exceed the river bank. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.

River levels have exceeded the river bank or will exceed the river bank soon. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.
