High Streamflow Advisory UPGRADED to a Flood Watch for Central Coast

Current situation
The River Forecast Centre has upgraded a High Streamflow Advisory to a Flood Watch for Central Coast including tributaries and smaller streams around Bella Coola, Rivers Inlet, and other coastal communities in B.C.
The River Forecast Centre is maintaining a High Streamflow Advisory for North Coast including tributaries along the outer coast and inland areas including Prince Rupert, Kitimat, Terrace, and surrounding areas.

A Flood Watch (orange) has been issued by the River Forecast Centre. Check the River Forecast Centre’s website for latest Flood Advisories in B.C.
Recommended actions

During a Flood Watch:
Stay clear of fast-flowing rivers. Riverbanks may be unstable and dangerous.
Visit your local government or First Nation website for information about your community.

High Streamflow Advisory
River levels are rising or are expected to rise rapidly. Major flooding is not expected. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

Flood Watch
River levels are rising and will approach or may exceed the riverbank. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.

Flood Warning
River levels have exceeded the riverbank or will exceed the riverbank soon. Flooding may occur in areas near affected rivers.
