Evacuation Order for Poole Creek and Gates Lake area in Electoral Area C

Current situation
The Squamish-Lillooet Regional District (SLRD) has issued an Evacuation Order for properties in the Poole Creek and Gates Lake area in Electoral Area C due to the risk of overland flooding and debris flood. Anyone in the impacted area must leave NOW.
An outburst is underway, and hazardous debris floods are expected in Place Creek and downstream water channels, with the potential for elevated water levels, erosion, and unstable streambanks.
Flows are expected to be comparable to the 2024 outburst event and greater than the flows seen in 2025.
Stay away from Place Creek, Poole Creek, Gates Lake, and all nearby water channels until the outburst has ended and conditions have been assessed.
