Current situation
The Peace River Regional District has issued multiple Evacuation Orders and Evacuation Alerts for multiple areas due to wildfire. Wildfires in the area pose a risk to life and safety.
Residents under Evacuation ORDER must leave the area IMMEDIATELY.
Residents under Evacuation ALERT must be ready to leave WITHIN SHORT NOTICE.

Area near Sikanni Chief Road and Highway 97 to Buckinghorse River
Evacuation Order #2: Pocketknife Creek

Area around Redfern Trail, west of Buckinghorse River, extending up to 7 km wide and southeast to Redfern Lake.
Evacuation Order #5: Kiskatinaw River
Area east and south of Highway 52E near Kelly Lake Road, extending to the BC|AB border
Evacuation Order #4: Kiskatinaw River
Area south and west of One Island Lake Road & Highway 52E, extending to the BC|AB border
Evacuation Order #3: Kiskatinaw River
South of Kiskatinaw Pit Road extending west to the BC border.
Evacuation Order #2: Kiskatinaw River
Around One Island Lake & Beaverlodge Lake, reaching east to the BC border.
Evacuation Order #1: Kiskatinaw River
Southeast of One Island Lake, from Highway 52E to the BC border.
Recommended actions for an Evacuation Order
Follow all directions from your local authority or First Nation:
If you are in the area under Evacuation Order, you are at risk and must leave immediately.
Evacuate following this route(s):
Travel to the City of Dawson Creek by the safest route for your area.
Visit Drive BC for updates on road conditions.
Create a profile or login to
Emergency Support Services (ESS) and learn how to access short-term basic support.
Register for Emergency Support Services (ESS) at the Reception Centre located at Dawson Creek City Hall – Lower Level, 10105 12A Street between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.
Monitor local information channels on the web, social media, radio and TV.

Area northeast of Sikanni Chief Bridge, looping southeast and back to Hwy 97N

Evacuation Alert #5: Kiskatinaw River
Area north and east of the junction of Coseks Road and Highway 52 East, extending to the BC|AB border

Area near the junctions of 256 Road with 211 & 221 Roads, extending north & east to the BC|AB border
