The City of Kamloops has rescinded the evacuation order for 5225 Southern Yellowhead Highway (Ramage Road) residents.
The decision to rescind the evacuation order came as a result of geotechnical experts’ analysis of the Palmer-Forsyth slope indicating the following conditions have been met:
- no observed or interpreted imminent threat from the hillside
- ground movement behaviour has been controlled for a reliable period of time
- de-watering of the slope has been effective and will continue
- monitoring of the slope will continue
Work will continue in the slope area in the foreseeable future while the City of Kamloops, Ministry of Transportation & Infrastructure and Emergency Management BC look to long term solutions.
