BC Emergency Alert: Evacuation Order in Peace River Regional District. Sept. 15, 2023.

An Evacuation Order has been issued by the Peace River Regional District due to the Stoddart Creek wildfire. The Evacuation Order includes the following area:

  • Following the southern boundary of Blueberry River First Nations reserve lands and the Blueberry River east to the bridge on the Prespatou Road
  • South along Prespatou Road to a point 3.2 km north of 264 Road
  • Due west to a point 3.2 km east of the Beatton Airport Road
  • Due north to a point of intersection with the Blueberry River

The Evacuation Order includes the following addresses:

  • 13469 272 Rd
  • 13646 272 Rd
  • 13769 272 Rd
  • 12953 272 Rd
  • 18352 277 Rd
  • 18354 277 Rd
  • 17493 279 Rd
  • 17483 Prespatou Rd
  • 17773 Prespatou Rd
  • 17777 Prespatou Rd
  • 17795 Prespatou Rd
  • 17903 Prespatou Rd
  • 18183 Prespatou Rd

Impacted residents must evacuate immediately. This Evacuation Order does not apply to the Blueberry River First Nation or the City of Fort St John.

BC Emergency Alert

The Peace River Regional District issued a BC Emergency Alert to notify impacted residents. The BC Emergency Alert message reads:

BC EMERGENCY ALERT issued by Peace River Regional District due to Wildfire. The Stoddart Creek Wildfire poses a threat to human life.

Evacuate immediately if you are in the following area: East of Beaton Airport Road to Prespatou Road between the Blueberry River and 266 Road. Check in with ESS at the North Peace Arena before midnight or from 9:30 AM to noon on Saturday.

 If you are unable to evacuate call 9-1-1. Visit www.prrd.bc.ca for details.

This does not apply to the Blueberry River First Nation or the City of Fort St John.

If you are in the impacted area:

  • Stop what you are doing and follow all directions provided in the Evacuation Order (PDF), including:
    • Travel by safest route to Fort St John
    • Register for Emergency Support Services (ESS):
    • The Reception Center will be open:
      • Friday September 15, 2023, from 21:30 hrs to 00:00 hrs (midnight)
      • Saturday September 16, 2023, from 09:30 hrs to 12:00 hrs
  • Do not call 911 for additional information unless you are trapped and unable to evacuate
