RESCINDED: Evacuation Order & Alert: Bear Creek Wildfire; Regional District of Central Okanagan. August 24



Due to progress on the Bear Creek Wildfire, the Regional District of Central Okanagan has rescinded the Evacuation Order and Alert previously issued for the following areas:

  • Bear Creek Provincial Campground
  • Trader’s Cove
  • Pine Point subdivision
  • Bear Creek Road north of the Parkinson Road intersection including Dougmac, Rose Valley and Petterson Roads

 

Active fire suppression continues in the area west of Westside Road. Smoke and flames may be seen as BC Wildfire Service firefighters remain in the area working over the next few days to completely extinguish the fire. Those returning may encounter various hazards on private properties as a result of the wildfire.

Members of the public are asked to stay out of the fire-affected area and obey any warning and hazard signs. This includes not entering any of the local hiking trails including Bear Creek Provincial Park.
